The New Madrid Fault Line was founded in 2009 in St. Louis, MO by brothers Brandon and Cody, along with high school friend Spencer. Initially focusing on an acoustic sound, with influences from punk and trip-hop, the band evolved its sound over the years. After Spencer's departure in 2012, Brandon and Cody continued to drive the band forward, Later joining was Will (2015-2016) and Cami (joining in 2024). The band boasts a unique setup, with every member being a multi-instrumentalist with no fixed instrumental roles.
TNMFL's sound has been a dynamic blend of Post-Punk, Emo, Hip-Hop, Pop, and Indie influences, resulting in a diverse and evolving soundscape.
The band has released two albums and four EP's on Off-Kilter Records and one album and an EP on Modular Rodeo records and has been featured on compilations by Alwaysdoyourbest Records, Off-Kilter Records, Modular Rodeo Records and has also been highlighted on Fresh On The Net's Fresh Faves.
