8/25/25 Your own way by never the bridle and outside the airplane
Salutations & welcome to the new week, we're gonna start this one off with a bop, I know I'm in serious need of a little steam release and what better way than to dance and smile your duldrums away. So I'm gonna prescribe "Your own way" for us to woo over and keep in rotation on our playlists. It's a transatlantic collaboration between UK artist Never the bridle and Nashville based Outside the airplane.
Your own way is my favorite kind of pop song, it's strange and aggressive and lush in equal measures. The opening piano get some heavy backup when the bass drum hits followed by the most welcoming vocals, luring you into a false sense of security before the fangs come out and the bass guitar comes in to get your shoulders and hips moving. The post-punk and EDM influence strike a balance I find enviable, Your own way is an esoteric gem I hope draws you in today and makes your day just a bit better. If you dig it reach out to these artist and show them some love today for sharing their art with us.
