9/8/25 like pearls (even the sad ones take pretty pics) by Violet Eve
This week was an easy pick, as soon as it came on I knew it was the one. I was slightly familiar with Violet Eve and her eclectic pick of cover songs and gorgeous originals, but this one stands alone, hearing an artist find their voice is such a beautiful experience and I look forward to the work yet to come from this super rad up and coming artist.
Achieving this amount of depth in such a minimal arrangement is absolutely astounding to me. The acoustic plucks backed mostly with just a perfectly spaced bass guitar are just enough to give focus to the real feature here, the voice and lyrics , the performance gives weight to such sad yet quirky lyrics and give the song wings. Then it passes the only test that matters, when it's over I want to listen again. This one's gone live a long life in my rotation.
I hope you agree and if you do make sure to reach out to Violet Eve and let them know.
